The marketing agency NAPI has analyzed used car sales across various Russian regions in January-September 2026. Over this 9-month period, a total of 4.4 million used cars were sold, representing a 2.4% increase year-on-year.

Moscow

Used car sales in Moscow reached 289.2 thousand units, accounting for 6.6% of the country's total used car sales volume. The TOP-10 list of the most popular models included two Chinese cars manufactured in 2024 and one Russian car, MOSKVICH 3 (2023 model year). The remaining seven positions were occupied by traditional foreign cars of various model years.

Moscow region

The used car market in the Moscow region saw sales of 247.6 thousand used cars, making up 5.7% of all used car sales nationwide. TOP-10 was dominated by traditional foreign cars of various model years, with the Russian LADA SAMARA (manufactured in 2008) ranking last.

Saint Petersburg

Sales in Saint Petersburg totaled 142.6 thousand used cars. The Northern Capital's share in total nationwide used car sales stood at 3.3%. TOP-10 models included traditional foreign cars manufactured in 2018–2021, alongside three Chinese cars of 2023–2024 model years.

Other regions of Russia

In the rest of the regions, 3.7 million used cars were sold, accounting for 85.1% of total sales. LADA became the undisputed leader, sweeping every single spot in the top rankings.
