21.09.2026 / Tractor units, semi-trailers, and trailers: trends in vehicle sales from 2022 to 2026

The marketing agency NAPI analyzed sales of tractor units, trailers, and semi-trailers in 2022-2026.

Tractor units

• In January-August 2026, 9.1 thousand new tractor units were sold, which was a 8.3% decline on the similar period last year and 15.0% less than the result of 8 months 2022.
• Sales of used tractor units amounted to 45.5 thousand units. Compared to last year, they increased by 15.9%, while compared to 2022 - by 14.3%.

Semi-trailers

• Sales of new semi-trailers totaled 10.7 thousand units in January–August 2026. This figure is 18.5% lower than in 2025 and 42.8% lower than in 2022.
• Used semi-trailer sales grew by 7.8% over the year and by 14.0% over the four-year period. For the first eight months of 2026, they totaled 39.9 thousand units.

Trailers

• Sales of new and used trailers declined sharply during the period from January to August 2026. New vehicle sales totaled 1.5 thousand units, marking a 40.4% drop year-on-year and a 64.3% decline on eight-month period of 2022.
• The used trailer segment contracted by 12.0% on the first eight months of 2025 and by 27.1% compared to the similar period of 2022. Sales of used trailers totaled 5.9 thousand units in January-August 2026.
