According to the marketing agency NAPI, sales of new and used cars totaled 4.6 million units in January-August 2026, which was a 3.9% rise on the previous year.
In quantitative terms, significant year-on-year growth was shown by segments of used cars aged up to 3 years (+22.7% to 279.3 thousand units) and 7–10 years (+14.3% to 567.9 thousand units). New car sales (+9.0% to 829.3 thousand units) and sales of cars aged 11–15 years (+0.8% to 957.8 thousand units) and 16–20 years (+2.0% to 832.6 thousand units) also grew. Sales declined slightly in segments of cars aged 4–6 years (-5.9% to 468.8 thousand units) and over 20 years (-1.9% to 712.1 thousand units).
Compared to the first eight months of the previous year, the share of used cars aged under 3 years (+0.9 p.p.) and 7–10 years (+1.1 p.p.), as well as new cars (+0.8 p.p.), increased in total sales.
