23.05.2024 / The share of cars manufactured in Russia has fallen sharply

The marketing agency NAPI analyzed the change in the new car market by country of manufacture based on the results of January-April 2024. Despite the growth in sales of cars manufactured in Russia, their share has decreased significantly over the year. If last year cars manufactured in Russia occupied more than half of the market, now they account for 40.3%. The share of cars manufactured in China increased over the year from 26.6% to 50.7%. So far, as we see, Chinese automakers are in no hurry to set up production in Russia, but are increasing import, including that of brands that left Russia. So, over the year, sales of TOYOTA cars manufactured in China grew by 241%, sales of Chinese MAZDA cars – by 189%.
