According to the marketing agency NAPI, the share of Chinese brands in the new car market reached 60.4% in January 2024: 48.5 thousand Chinese cars were sold. The Russian brands accounted for 30.5% or 24.5 thousand units. In January 2022, before the mass departure of most foreign cars, the share of Chinese brands did not reach 10%: 8.3 thousand Chinese cars were sold.
In January 2023 and January 2024, Chinese brands increased both their market share and sales. As for Russian brands, car sales grew in both January 2023 and January 2024, but the share in January of the current year decreased on January 2023 due to the rapid growth in sales of Chinese cars (+182% on January 2023).
