The marketing agency NAPI analyzed the dynamics of new car sales by engine capacity. In January-October 2025, 1,045.5 thousand new cars were sold, which was a 19.1% decline on the similar period of 2024. Of them, 356.5 thousand units equipped with engines capacity of over 160 HP (-18.6% on 2024) and 688.9 thousand units with engines capacity of 160 HP or less (-19.3%) were sold.
In October 2025, 163.6 thousand new cars were sold, compared to 165.3 thousand units sold in October 2024. Sales decreased by 1.1%. Of the total number of cars sold, 63.7 thousand units had powerful engines (capacity of over 160 HP), while 99.8 thousand units were less powerful. Compared to October 2024, sales of powerful cars grew by 11.6%, while those of less powerful ones fell by 7.8%.
For the period from 2024 to October 2025, the share of powerful cars varied from 29% to 39%. It peaked in October of the current year.
