29.01.2021 / Vehicle production decline in Russia in 2020

According to Russian Automotive Market Research, in 2020, 1,424 thousand vehicles were produced in Russia, which was a 17.2% decline year-on-year. At the same time, the production decline was shown by both Russian (-10.6%) and foreign brands (-20.5%).

The smallest decline in production in 2020 took place in the segment of buses – 3.4% on 2019. During the year, 13.3 thousand units were produced.

The production of Russian vehicles In the LCV segment decreased by 12.2%, foreign ones - by 9.2%. A total of 110.6 thousand light commercial vehicles were produced in 2020 – by 11.5% less than in 2019.

In 2020 the truck production fell by 9.9% and amounted to 61.4 thousand units. The production of trucks of Russian brands decreased by 4.8%, foreign ones - by 27.8%.

The production of Russian vehicles in the car segment was down by 11.2%, while foreign ones - by 20.7%. A total of 1 239 thousand cars were produced in 2020 – by 18.2% less than in 2019.
