08.06.2026 / The cost of new electric and hybrid cars became almost equal in May 2026

The marketing agency NAPI analyzed the dynamics of average prices for new electric and plug-in hybrid cars.

Prices for new electric cars increased significantly in May 2024 (+20.7%). In May 2025, prices for electric cars slightly changed (+0.2%). In May of the current year, prices for electric cars grew by 4.7%.

The cost of new plug-in hybrid cars decreased in May 2024 (-17.3%), but increased in May 2025 (+12.7%). In May 2026, prices for new hybrid cars fell by 5.5%.

In May of the current year, prices for electric cars increased by 26.7% on the similar period of 2023. At the same time, prices for hybrid cars fell by 11.9% over three years.
