21.08.2025 / Sales of Russian buses fell below those of Chinese ones

According to the marketing agency NAPI, 5 thousand new buses were sold in January-July 2025, which was a 56.8% decline on the previous year, when 11.6 thousand buses were sold. Russian bus sales fell by 59% over the year (to 3.8 thousand units), Chinese ones - by 48% (to 1.1 thousand units). Thus, over the first seven months of the current year, YUTONG (0.7 thousand units) and HIGER (0.2 thousand units) became the best-selling Chinese bus brands. However, compared to the similar period of 2024, sales of buses of these brands decreased by 49.3% and 39.8%, respectively. The decline in sales of new Chinese buses was affected, among other things, by the increase in their prices. Thus, the cost of YUTONG grew by 10%, and HIGER - by 2.7%. Over the year, the share of new Russian buses decreased from 79% to 75.2%, while that of Chinese ones, on the contrary, was up from 18% to 21.7%.
