The marketing agency NAPI has updated its "Car residual value" report for Q I 2026. The graphs show the current prices for new Chinese cars purchased in 2021, 2024, and 2026, as well as residual value of these used cars in Q I of the current year.

Among two-year-old and five-year-old cars shown in the graph, HAVAL H9 could be sold at the highest price last quarter, with an average price of 4.1 million rubles and 2.8 million rubles, respectively. CHERY TIGGO 4 became the leader by residual value preservation relative to the last quarter’s price for a new car after two years of operation. Having sold a two-year-old car, the owner could purchase a new CHERY TIGGO 4 additionally paying 14.27% of its price in Q I of current year.

After five years of operation, Geely Tugella demonstrated the best residual value preservation relative to the last quarter’s price for a new car. Having sold a five-year-old car, the owner could purchase a new Geely Tugella additionally paying 37.32% of its price in Q I of current year.

Among two-year-old cars analyzed, HAVAL H9 demonstrated the best residual value preservation relative to the new car price in Q I 2024, with a 98.13% retention rate.

It should be noted that the price for the most five-year-old used cars in Q I 2026 was higher than that for the same new cars in Q I 2021. This situation resulted from a significant increase in new car prices over the past five years. Thus, GEELY COOLRAY became the leader by residual value preservation relative to the new car price in Q I 2021 among used cars aged 5 years, which retained 111.0%.
