16.02.2026 / Cars aged under 3 years account for more than 40% of Moscow's taxi population

According to the marketing agency NAPI, as of January 1, 2026, the Moscow taxi population numbers 89.5 thousand cars with valid permits.

The most popular models in the population are KIA (16.1%), HYUNDAI (11.2%), and CHERY (10.7%). TOP-10 also included such European brands as VOLKSWAGEN and ŠKODA, Chinese HAVAL, GEELY, and BAIC, as well as Belarusian BELGEE and Russian MOSKVICH. TOP-10 account for 82.5% of the Moscow taxi population.

It should be noted that cars aged under 3 years (42.5%, or 38 thousand units) dominate the population. Cars aged 4-6 years account for 29.2%, or 26.1 thousand units, and those aged 7-10 years – 20.5%, or 18.4 thousand units. Cars aged over 10 years account for 7.8% or 7 thousand units of the capital's taxi population.
