04.09.2026 / Almost half of all electric cars and hybrid vehicles is distributed across 4 regions

According to the marketing agency NAPI, the electric car and plug-in electric vehicle (PHEV) population totaled 238.7 thousand units as of July 1, 2026. The share of "green" vehicles in the total car population is 0.5%: electric cars account for 0.2%, while hybrid ones - for 0.3%.

The total number of electric cars in the population is 89.7 thousand units, accounting for 37.6% of the eco-friendly car population. Hybrid vehicles account for 149.0 thousand units, or 62.4% of the eco-friendly car population.

Among the regions, the largest number of electric cars and hybrid vehicles is in the population of Moscow, the Moscow region, Saint Petersburg, and the Krasnodar region. TOP-10 regions account for 63.5% of Russia's total "green" car population.
