In January-October 2020, the market revenue of new trailers and semi-trailers1 amounted to 64 billion rubles, which was a 0.9% decline on January-October 2019.

Negative dynamics of the market revenue is caused by the decrease in new trailer sales by 3.8%.

In January-October 2020, used trailer sales decreased by 7.8%. In this regard, the used trailer market revenue fell by 7.1% and amounted to 66 billion rubles.

New trailer market

Tatarstan Republic became the leader by financial results among regional markets. In January-October 2020, new trailers on 7.2 billion rubles were sold in the region. The market revenue of the Moscow region and Moscow, which also entered the top three, amounted to 6.9 billion rubles and 4.1 billion rubles, respectively.

The largest increase in the market revenue was shown by Tatarstan Republic (+77.4%). Over the first ten months of 2020, new trailer sales in this region increased by 83%.

Also, the positive dynamics of sales and the market revenue among TOP-10 regions2 was shown by the Khanty-Mansi AR and the Chelyabinsk region. New trailer sales in Moscow decreased by 0.3%, while weighted average prices grew by 5.4%. In this regard, the market revenue of the capital's trailer market increased by 5.0%.

In January-October 2020, SCHMITZ became the leader by financial results. 11.1 billion rubles were spent on the purchase of trailers of this brand for the reporting period. It was followed by TONAR, sales of which amounted to 6.0 billion rubles in money terms. TOP-3 also included KRONE with a financial result of 3.7 billion rubles.

The largest increase in the market revenue was shown by TSP (+40.0%). Over the first ten months of 2020, sales of TSP trailers in quantitative terms increased by 39.5%.

Four more TOP-10 brands – TONAR, NEFAZ, SESPEL and GRUNWALD - showed positive dynamics of the market revenue.

Used trailer market

The largest market revenue in the used trailer market for the reporting period was shown by the Moscow region – 4.2 billion rubles. TOP-3 also included the Krasnodar region and Tatarstan Republic, in which 4.1 billion rubles and 3.4 billion rubles were spent on the purchase of used trailers, respectively.

Positive dynamics of market revenue remained in three TOP-10 regions – Tatarstan Republic, Stavropol and the Voronezh regions.

In January-October 2020, the best financial result in the used trailer market belongs to SCHMITZ. 14.4 billion rubles were spent on the purchase of used trailers of this brand. It was followed by KRONE and KOGEL. Sales of used KRONE and KOEGEL trailers in money terms amounted to 9.5 billion and 3.0 billion rubles, respectively.
