Negative dynamics of the market revenue was caused by the decrease in new LCV sales by 8.6%.

In January-October 2020, used LCV sales decreased by 6.9% on January-October 2019. In this regard, the used LCV market revenue fell by 3.8% and amounted to 213 billion rubles.

New LCV market

The largest market revenue of the new LCV market for the reporting period was recorded in Moscow – 22.2 billion rubles. Top three also included the Moscow region and Saint Petersburg, in which 12.5 billion rubles and 8.9 billion rubles were spent on the new LCV, respectively.

Only five TOP 15 regional markets kept positive dynamics of the market revenue.

GAZ traditionally became the leader by financial results. In January-October 2020, new LCV of this brand were sold on 53.7 billion rubles. It was followed by FORD, LCV sales of which in money terms amounted to 24.6 billion rubles. VOLKSWAGEN also entered the top three with a financial result of 13.2 billion rubles.

Several TOP-15 brands showed the growth of the market revenue. This dynamics of FORD, MAZDA, MITSUBISHI, CITROEN, FIAT and ISUZU brands was caused not only by price growth, but also by increase in demand for these vehicles for the reporting period. The increase in TOYOTA and PEUGEOT's financial results was due to growth in the weighted average price due to changes in the brand sales structure: increase in the share of the most expensive models against the background of the decrease in the share of the cheapest ones.

Used LCV market

Moscow became the leader by used LCV market revenue among Russian regions. Used LCV on 18.1 billion rubles were sold over the first ten months of 2020 in the capital. The revenue of the Moscow region and Saint Petersburg markets, which are also among the top three, amounted to 17.8 billion rubles and 11.5 billion rubles, respectively.

Almost all TOP-15 regional markets have negative dynamics of the market revenue. The Republic of Tatarstan and the Nizhny Novgorod region were the only exceptions.

Following results of ten months of 2020, the best financial result belongs to GAZ. 59.6 billion rubles were spent on the purchase of used LCV of this brand. It was followed by VOLKSWAGEN and MERCEDES-BENZ brands. For the reporting period, sales of used light commercial vehicles of these brands in money terms amounted to 25.3 billion rubles and 17.8 billion rubles, respectively.

It should be noted that LADA and MITSUBISHI increased sales of LCV both in quantitative and money terms. MAZDA and NISSAN increased their financial results due to higher prices.
