In January-May 2021, the market revenue of new trailers and semi-trailers1 amounted to 45 billion rubles, which was a 59.4% rise on January-May 2020.

Significant positive dynamics of the market revenue was due to the increase in new trailer sales by 40.3% and growth in their weighted average prices by 13.6%.

In January-May 2021, used trailer sales grew by 17.3%, while their weighted average prices - by 14.7%. In this regard, the used trailer market revenue was up by 34.6% and amounted to 39 billion rubles.

New trailer market

The Tatarstan Republic became the leader among regional markets by financial results. Following results of January-May 2020, new trailers on 5.3 billion rubles were sold in the region. The market revenue of the Moscow region and Moscow, which also entered the TOP-3, amounted to 4.8 billion rubles and 2.8 billion rubles, respectively.

The largest increase in the market revenue of the TOP-10 regions took place in the Krasnoyarsk region (+132.9%). Over the first five months of 2021, new trailer sales in this region grew by 83.4%.

In January-May 2021, SCHMITZ became the leader by financial results. 8.7 billion rubles were spent on the trailers of this brand for the reporting period. It was followed by KRONE, sales of which in money terms amounted to 4.4 billion rubles. TONAR also entered the TOP-3 with a financial result of 4.2 billion rubles.

All TOP-10 brands showed positive dynamics of the market revenue except SESPEL, its market revenue decreased by 3%. It was caused by the drop in sales by 2.5% and decrease in weighted average prices by 0.5%.

Used trailer market

The largest market revenue in the used trailer market for the reporting period was shown by the Moscow region – 2.7 billion rubles. TOP-3 also included the Krasnodar region and Saint Petersburg, in which 2.6 billion rubles and 1.9 billion rubles were spent on the used trailers, respectively.

Following results of January-May 2021, the best financial result in the used trailer market belonged to SCHMITZ. 9.3 billion rubles were spent on the used trailers of this brand. It was followed by KRONE and KOEGEL. Sales of used KRONE and KOEGEL trailers in money terms amounted to 5.2 billion rubles and 2 billion rubles, respectively.

All TOP-10 brands showed positive dynamics of the market revenue except SZAP, its market revenue decreased by 17.7%. It was caused by the drop in sales by 13.1% and decrease in weighted average prices by 5.3%.
