New truck market

In January-August 2021, 59.13 thousand new trucks were sold in the Russian market, which was a 35.55% rise year-on-year.

In August 2021, after growing for 6 consecutive months, new truck sales fell by 18.57% and amounted to 4.79 thousand units.

In January-August 2021, the share of foreign trucks grew by 2.27% on the similar period of 2020 and amounted to 46.02% of the market. Sales of trucks of foreign and Russian brands increased by 42.59% and 30.07%, respectively.

In January-August 2021, the new truck market was traditionally dominated by vehicles with GVW exceeding 16,000 kg: their share increased by 1.28% and reached 77.20%. The share of new trucks with GVW of 8,001-16,000 kg, on the contrary, fell by 1.86% and amounted to 14.98%.

Diesel trucks were leaders by sales over the first eight months of 2021: they accounted for 98.26%. The share of vehicles equipped with gas/bi-fuel engines decreased by 0.35% and amounted to 1.74%.
