In January-August 2020, the market revenue of new trailers and semi-trailers1 amounted to 47 billion rubles, which was a 3.1% decline on January-August 2019.

Negative dynamics of the market revenue was caused by a 6.3% decrease in new trailer sales.

In January-August 2020, used trailer sales fell by 10.5%. In addition, their weighted average prices decreased (-0.4%). In this regard, the used trailer market revenue was down by 10.9% and amounted to 50 billion rubles.

New trailer market

The Moscow region became the leader by financial results among regional markets. In January-August 2020, new trailers on 5.4 billion rubles were sold in the region. The market revenue of Tatarstan Republic and Moscow, which are also among TOP-3, amounted to 4.3 billion rubles and 2.6 billion rubles, respectively.

The largest growth in the market revenue was shown by Tatarstan Republic (+82.6%). Over the first eight months of 2020, new trailer sales in this region increased by 87.3%.

Positive dynamics of sales and the market revenue among TOP-10 regions2 remained in the Khanty-Mansi AR and the Chelyabinsk region.

In January-August 2020, SCHMITZ became the leader by financial results. 7.3 billion rubles were spent on trailers of this brand for the reporting period. It was followed by TONAR, sales of which in money terms amounted to 4.4 billion rubles. TOP-3 also included KRONE with a financial result of 2.5 billion rubles.

The largest increase in the market revenue was shown by GRUNWALD (+27.1%). Over the first eight months of 2020, sales of GRUNWALD trailers grew by 28.5% in quantitative terms.

Four more TOP-10 brands – TONAR, NEFAZ, SESPEL and UST - showed positive dynamics of the market revenue.

Used trailer market

The largest used trailer market revenue for the reporting period was shown by the Krasnodar region – 3.2 billion rubles. TOP-3 also included the Moscow region and Tatarstan Republic, where 3.1 billion rubles and 2.5 billion rubles were spent on used trailers, respectively.

Positive dynamics of the market revenue remained in one TOP-10 region – the Voronezh region - due to the growth of trailer sales by 10.7%.

In January-August 2020 the best financial result in the used trailer market belonged to SCHMITZ. 10.7 billion rubles were spent on used trailers of this brand. It was followed by KRONE and KOGEL. For the reporting period, sales of used KRONE and KOEGEL trailers in money terms amounted to 6.8 billion rubles and 2.2 billion rubles, respectively.

Two TOP-10 brands kept positive dynamics of the market revenue - TONAR and GRUNWALD. For the reporting period, sales of TONAR and GRUNWALD trailers increased by 20.8% and 17.3%, respectively.
