DownloadIn January-May 2020, the market revenue of new trailers and semi-trailers1 amounted to 27 billion rubles, which was a 3.4% decline on January-May 2019.
A 4.2% drop in new trailer sales caused negative dynamics of the market revenue.

In January-May 2020, used trailer sales fell by 10.6%. In addition, their weighted average prices decreased (-0.8%). In this regard, the used trailer market revenue was down by 11.3% and amounted to 29 billion rubles.

New trailer market
The Moscow region became the leader by financial results among regional markets. In January-May 2020, new trailers on 3.2 billion rubles were sold in the region. The market revenue of Tatarstan Republic and Moscow, which were also included in TOP-3, amounted to 2.6 billion rubles and 1.5 billion rubles, respectively.
Tatarstan Republic, Khanty-Mansi AR, Chelyabinsk and Perm regions were among TOP-10 regions to show the growth of the market revenue. Over the first five months of 2020 new trailer sales in units in Tatarstan increased by 114.0%, in Khanty-Mansi AR - by 18.2%, the demand for trailers in Chelyabinsk and Perm regions grew by 37.9% and 71.2%, respectively.

In January-May 2020, SCHMITZ became the leader by financial results. 4.1 billion rubles were spent on trailers of this brand for the reporting period. It was followed by TONAR, trailer sales of which in money terms amounted to 2.6 billion rubles. KRONE with a financial result of 1.6 billion rubles rounded out the top three.
Despite the reduction in weighted average prices, the largest increase in trailer sales in money terms was shown by SESPEL (+43.4%). Following results of five months of 2020, sales of SESPEL trailers in quantitative terms increased by 43.9%.
Demand for NEFAZ trailers increased by 26.3% in January-May, while weighted average prices - by 8.1%. In this regard, sales of new trailers of this brand in money terms grew by 36.5%.
Sales of new GRUNWALD trailers in money terms increased by 30.4% due to a 31.5% sales growth in units.
Two more TOP-10 brands - TONAR and UST- showed positive dynamics of the market revenue.
Negative dynamics of the market revenue of Schmitz, KRONE, KAESSBOHRER and KOEGEL brands was caused by a significant reduction in their new trailer sales.

Used trailer market
The largest used trailer market revenue for the reporting period belonged to the Moscow region – 1.9 billion rubles. TOP-3 also included the Krasnodar region and Saint Petersburg, in which 1.8 billion rubles and 1.4 billion rubles were spent on used trailers, respectively.
Dynamics of the market revenue remained positive in one TOP-10 region – the Voronezh region – due to a 16.2% increase in sales.

In January-May 2020, the best financial result belonged to SCHMITZ. 6.4 billion rubles were spent on used trailers of this brand. It was followed by KRONE and KOGEL. For the reporting period, sales of used Krone and KOEGEL trailers in money terms amounted to 3.7 billion rubles and 1.2 billion rubles, respectively. All three brands showed negative sales and market revenue dynamics.
Three brands (TONAR, SZAP and WIELTON) kept the positive market revenue dynamics. Over five months, sales of used TONAR trailers in units increased by 18.1%, SZAP – by 10.9%, WIELTON – by 1.7%.
