10.11.2020 / The most in-demand equipment in financial leasing

According to Russian Automotive Market Research, in January-September 2020 a total of 14.8 thousand financial leasing contracts¹ for equipment were concluded.

For the reporting period, 103.2 thousand units of equipment were purchased under financial leasing.

Telecommunications equipment, office equipment and computers are in the greatest demand in financial leasing. Over the first nine months of 2020, 18.3 thousand units of this equipment were leased.

Equipment for oil and gas production and processing (12.7 thousand units) and energy equipment (12.7 thousand units) were also in high demand in January-September 2020.

The largest share of equipment leased in January-September 2020 by lessees belongs to the Khanty-Mansi AR – 33.1%. The TOP-3 regions by the number of equipment leased also included Moscow and Sverdlovsk regions: their shares were 16.9% and 6.9%, respectively.

Equipment for oil and gas production and processing was in the greatest demand among lessees of the Khanty-Mansi AR. It accounted for 33.3% of equipment leased by lessees from this region.

The largest share of leased equipment in the Moscow region in January-September 2020 belongs to telecommunications equipment, office equipment and computers – 82.8%. 50.6% of the equipment leased in the Sverdlovsk region was purchased for housing and utilities.
