According to Russian Automotive Market Research, in January-May 2021 sales of new trailers and semi-trailers¹ amounted to 15.26 thousand units, which was a 40.3% rise year-on-year. At the same time, the new trailer market showed a 34.3% growth on January-May 2019.

In May 2021, new trailer sales increased by 67.7% on May 2020 and amounted to 3.15 thousand units. At the same time, the new trailer market was up by 47.9% on May 2019.
SCHMITZ is the leader by trailer sales in the trailer market. In May, sales of SCHMITZ trailers grew by 157.7% and amounted to 0.40 thousand units.

It was followed by TONAR trailers, sales of which increased by 3.7% in May 2021 to 0.37 thousand units. The third place was occupied by KRONE, which sold 0.34 thousand trailers (+512.7% year-on-year).
All TOP-10 brands did not show sales reduction.

In May 2021 the rating of regional markets was headed by the Tatarstan Republic, in which new trailer sales almost doubled. TOP-3 regional markets also included the Moscow region and Moscow.
The Nizhny Novgorod region was among TOP-20 regional markets to show negative sales dynamics. The largest increase in new trailer sales took place in the Kaluga region.
