In 2020, new LCV[1] sales amounted to 109.76 thousand units, which was a 7.5% decline on 2019.
In December 2020 new LCV sales fell by 4.1% to 13.74 thousand units.
In December 2020 the rating of regions by new LCV sales was led by Moscow, the Moscow region and Saint Petersburg.
A number of regional TOP-20 markets showed negative sales dynamics. The sharpest sales decline took place in the Bashkortostan Republic – 36.6%.
New LCV sales in the Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd regions increased by more than 20%.

In December 2020 the market leader GAZ sold 5.06 thousand light commercial vehicles, which was a 19.4% decline on the result of December 2019. The second place was traditionally occupied by UAZ, sales of which amounted to 2.35 thousand units (-6.7%). FORD also entered the TOP-3 with a result of 1.79 thousand LCV sold (+11.2%).
Three TOP-10 brands showed negative sales dynamics. The sharpest decline was shown by TOYOTA (-37.5%).
The largest increase in LCV sales was shown by CITROEN: the demand for light commercial vehicles of this brand grew almost 3-fold on December 2019.

New car market
Following results of 2020, 1 million 457 thousand new cars were sold in the Russian market, which was a 8.2% decline on 2019.
In December 2020 the new car market decreased by 13.8% on December 2019 to 153.95 thousand units.
The rating of regions by new car sales in December 2020 was headed by Moscow, the Moscow region and Saint Petersburg.
All regional TOP-20 markets showed sales decline.

In December 2020 sales of the market leader LADA decreased by 1.6% and amounted to 34.52 thousand units. TOP-3 also traditionally included KIA and HYUNDAI. Sales of KIA cars fell by 11.0%, HYUNDAI - by 29.6%.
SKODA, BMW, CHERY and HAVAL were TOP-15 brands to show sales growth.
