New bus market is growing

In January-August 2021, 8.59 thousand new buses were sold in the Russian market, which was a 8.27% rise year-on-year.

In August 2021, new bus sales grew by 31.12% on August 2020 and amounted to 1.11 thousand units.

In January-August 2021, the share of foreign buses fell by 2.82% on the similar period of 2020 and amounted to 10.34% of the market.

In January-August 2021, small buses were traditionally leaders in the new bus market: their share was up by 3.09% and reached 43.02%. The share of new extra-large buses, on the contrary, fell by 4.07% and amounted to 7.31%.

Diesel buses were leaders by sales over the first eight months of 2021: they accounted for 61.64%. Shares of buses equipped with gas and electric engines increased by 2.71% and 0.46%, respectively. Share of buses equipped with petrol and bi-fuel engines fell by 2.47% and 1.24%, respectively.
