Following results of March 2025, 28,699 LADA cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia, Autonews reports with reference to AvtoVAZ's press service.
Sales figures increased by 7.4% on February of the current year, but decreased by 33% on the previous year. According to Maxim Sokolov, the company head, such results confirm the previously announced forecast on the decline in sales in the first quarter. Mr. Sokolov cites the high key rate, the tightening of credit conditions by the Central Bank and the large volume of import of foreign-brand cars in 2024 as the reasons for the sales decline.
Lada Granta became the sales leader in March 2025. The model sales increased by 22.5% on February and amounted to 11,767 units. A total of 29,705 cars were sold in Russia in the first quarter.
