By the end of August, 18 buses will enter the Passenger Motor Transport Company’s routes, after installing and adjusting the equipment, promised Sergey Voropanov, the Vologda Mayor.
The administration purchased buses at the expense of an infrastructure loan, which Vologda received due to support of the regional government. During the auction, 10% of the original cost were saved, which made it possible to purchase 2 more vehicles.
The buses are manufactured at the Volga plant "Volgabus", which supplies vehicles to different cities of Russia. The total passenger capacity of each bus is 104 people. The bus is equipped with a video surveillance system, an information board, and LED route indicators. An automatic fire extinguishing system and a tachograph have been added to the driver's cab. Buses also have a folding ramp for passengers with disabilities and a special platform for wheelchair.
