The Tutaev Motor Plant, KAMAZ subsidiary in the Yaroslavl region, continues to work on improving characteristics of the engine for Kirovets tractor, which is supplied to the main consumer – JSC St. Petersburg Tractor Plant. Engines for the entire K-7M line-up are now produced only with cast-iron cylinder heads.
According to specialists of the consumer company, the extended warranty period will increase its residual value, which is important for further updating of the tractor fleet.
TMP designers carried out the modernization taking into account the large number of engines in operation, therefore, it became possible to replace outdated aluminum cylinder heads with new cast-iron ones without additional modifications. In addition, the new K-7M engines use a more efficient air-to-air charge air cooler. Cooling is now carried out by atmospheric air, the design and production technology have become simpler, the cost and fuel consumption are lower.
