The Tutaev Motor Plant, KAMAZ subsidiary in the Yaroslavl region, is installing new equipment for the manufacture of a core set for cylinder block.
The equipment is installed on the core section of the iron foundry. In addition to the core making machine, the complex includes peripheral equipment for painting and drying the core set and production tooling for the manufacture of at least 6 thousand core sets per year. According to Sergey Balantsev, Chief Metallurgist of TMP PTC, the new equipment is designed for the manufacture of a cylinder block using HTS technology - casting into cold–hardening mixtures.
After the pre-production is completed, the new technology for manufacturing block castings will be applied in mass production, which is scheduled to start in October.
