The KAMAZ Engine Plant has purchased two sets of 3D printers

To optimize and increase production efficiency, two sets of 3D printers were purchased by the KAMAZ Engine Plant.

It will allow diesel operators to reduce the time required to repair various equipment and reduce costs. According to Olga Brelyakova, Deputy Chief Development Engineer, in world practice, up to 60% of equipment breakdowns occur due to improper maintenance.

The new printers use three-dimensional printing technology. The device operation begins with feeding a plastic thread (filament) through an extruder, which applies the material to a movable platform in a given location layer by layer. This creates a physical copy of a 3D computer model. The process proceeds from the bottom up under strict software control. This method, based on the layered deposition of polymers, allows to reproduce complex details with high accuracy.
