Industrial production of LADA NIVA Sport SUVs has begun at the Lada Sport enterprise. At the first stage of industrial production, all manufactured cars will be delivered to the relevant functional divisions of AvtoVAZ for comprehensive testing and confirmation of design characteristics.
LADA NIVA Sport features sporty suspension and brake settings, as well as an original powertrain. The car is equipped with a 16-valve VAZ-21127-95 engine capacity of 122 HP at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 151 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine is located longitudinally and is aggregated with an upgraded gear box, which uses reinforced fifth gears and a clutch housing, a single-lever transfer case control drive, similar to that installed on NIVA Travel.
The suspension has been upgraded – more powerful springs have been installed and the stroke of the shock absorbers has been increased. The hub assemblies are equipped with bearings that do not require adjustment. The brakes correspond to the increased dynamics: 300 mm brake discs from Lada Vesta NG are installed in the front and Lada Granta Sport in the rear. Design specifications provide the acceleration to 100 km/h not exceeding 12 seconds. The car received interior decorated in a contrasting racing style, new seats and steering wheel. Having received increased dynamics and handling, LADA NIVA Sport has maintained the high level of endurance typical for the brand's SUVs.
NIVA Sport production technologies provide for the delivery of a painted body from AvtoVAZ to the Lada Sport assembly line, and further individual assembly.
