NAMI Institute will acquire Renault's stake in AvtoVAZ

Russian Automotive Market Research

Renault transfers its share of the Volga Automobile Plant to the NAMI Institute: this was stated by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

At the moment Renault is the full or partial owner of three plants in Russia: a large production site in Tolyatti, the plant in Izhevsk, which produces Lada cars, and Renault enterprises in Moscow.

The Russian market is a key one for Renault — in terms of sales volumes, Russia is on second place after France. In 2021, the brand sold 482 thousand cars in Russia, which was only 39 thousand units less than in France. For comparison, in Germany, 177.8 thousand cars were sold.
