Localized K5 will be produced at KAMAZ

The Russian automobile manufacturer KAMAZ has announced a full-scale production of K5 trucks using localized components. The start of production is scheduled for February 2023.

It is known that in spring of 2022 the company faced a shortage of spare parts against the background of the imposed sanctions. Then it was reported about the shortage of American Cummins engines, German ZF transmissions and Bosch fuel equipment.

Nevertheless, new models were developed at the facilities of the KAMAZ Scientific and Technical Center: fire trucks on the KAMAZ chassis, Compass vehicles, KAMAZ articulated electric bus, KAMAZ-6561 Hercules vehicles, KAMAZ-54901, as well as the unmanned KAMAZ-6559 Jupiter 30 dumper.
