KAMAZ Press and Frame Plant continues to robotize production

Robotization of production continues at the KAMAZ Press and Frame Plant. Following the chassis workshop, where four robotic cells are now functioning, mechanical assistants with software control appeared in the frame assembly workshop.

A cell of two robotic complexes was placed at the welding site of the crossbar assemblies. In a few months, they shall master the manufacture of the frame part, which is used for many models of K3 generation trucks.

The list of operations performed by iron assistants will be expanded. In the future, the development of welding of about 38 different crossbars – programs for them will be developed by specialists of the KAMAZ Technology Center (TC). By the way, authors of the equipment for this robotic complex work in the design department of TC new production facilities, and it was made at a repair and tool plant.

The commissioning of two welded cells in the frame assembly workshop is scheduled for December, but robotization at the Press and Frame Plant will continue. In 2025, new assistants specializing in side welding will appear, they are also in demand at the genuine parts site of the chassis workshop.

The KAMAZ Engine Plant has launched new shaft straightening equipment
