Gazprom has formed the Russia's largest fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles for transportation of liquefied gases.
Gazprom has received 200 new tractor units from KAMAZ, increasing its fleet to 273 units. Vehicles are designed to transport products of the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP), primarily liquefied petroleum gases (LPG). Gazprom Helium Service LLC is the single operator of LPG and helium transportation at the Amur Gas Processing Plant.
The new generation K5 tractor units were developed by order of Gazprom. They use an environmentally friendly energy carrier, liquefied natural gas (LNG), as fuel. In the Far East, Gazprom produces it at low-tonnage complexes located near the Amur Gas Processing Plant and at the helium hub site in the Primorsky region.
The range of new tractor units with one refuel has increased to 1,600 km. Two cryogenic tanks capacity of 1,060 liters of LNG and an upgraded onboard system allow to overcome this distance. The KAMAZ refueling time takes only 20 minutes. A network of authorized KAMAZ service centers has been deployed along the route of tractor units.
