Russian Automotive Market Research

GOST for rare vehicles will come into force on March 1, 2020. GOST R 58686-2019 is a national standard of the Russian Federation and is applied on the territory of Russia on a voluntary basis.

The document covers motorcycles, cars and trailers aged 30 years and older, trucks, buses and trailers not intended for commercial transportation of passengers and cargo, older than 50 years, with the original engine, body and frame (if available), preserved or restored to its original condition.

Confirmation of the originality of a rare vehicle with registration in accordance with GOST R 58686-2019 will be the basis for the fact that this vehicle will be a rightful participant in the road traffic. Thus, it will be possible to use and dispose of a rare vehicle without restrictions without the vehicle design safety certificate on the territory of Russia.
