The KAMAZ Foundry Plant has developed a technology for manufacturing a solid-cast axle case.

The 3D model of an ordinary welded axle case, consisting of three parts, was taken as a basis and combined, and the wall thickness was almost halved - from 15 to 8 mm. Two holes for the ladders that hold the springs have been modified. Previously, they were cast and thin, welded to the axle, and sometimes deformed under load. Now these elements are already part of a single cast structure, which simplifies machining.

To date, the Foundry Plant has produced five solid-cast axles. They are currently undergoing bench tests at the Scientific and Technical Center of KAMAZ PTC.
