Volgabus plans to certify a new bus model in the first half of 2025

Volgabus plans to complete certification of a new bus model in the first quarter of 2025, obtain Vehicle Type Approval and conduct trial tests in the regions of Russia. This will be a model with a climate control system, a multimedia information system, and USB chargers for gadgets. The bus is adapted for passengers with disabilities.

The hybrid power plant is paired with a 48 A/h traction battery – this is about half as much as used in electric buses with fast charging and 10 times less than in vehicles charged at night. At the same time, the hybrid uses an energy recovery system for charging and does not need additional energy sources (it is completely autonomous). In comparison with diesel analogues, fuel consumption decreased by 40%.

The internal combustion engine is represented by 6-cylinder diesel unit, which can transmit torque through a two-stage planetary gearbox both directly to the wheels and work as a drive for the generator. At the same time, it is possible for the unit and electric motors to work together, which allows to develop a torque exceeding 1,000 Nm.
