The first stage of the URAL Digital Production project has been completed at the UralAZ

In April 2025, the URAL Automobile Plant won the competitive selection of the Russian Information Technology Development Fund and received state support funds to implement products, services and platform solutions as part of the "Domestic Solutions" federal project of the "Data Economics and Digital Transformation of the State" national project of the "Information Society" state program of the Russian Federation.

The project is aimed at implementing a solution to refine and introduce production management (PROF-IT MES) and product quality management (QMS Professional) systems of the PROF-IT GROUP.

Over six months, the Ural Automobile Plant and the PROF-IT GROUP teams have achieved significant results and laid a solid foundation for further work. During this period, it was possible to adapt information systems used at the enterprise to the customer's requirements, replicate the PROF-IT MES system (already used on the main assembly line) for the production of unique equipment in a new assembly building, set up motion control of the vehicle and its components along new production lines, and adapt the updated operational quality control system to the features of the new production facilities.

At the first stage, requirements for a new automotive components production management system, MES Components, were formed, and the possibility of integration with production equipment using various technologies, including integration with existing systems, was analyzed. Requirements for the QMS Professional system to ensure end-to-end product quality control from assembly to warranty management, as well as requirements for the collection and statistical analysis of key characteristics (SPC) have also been clarified.

Implementation of these requirements forms a task of the next project stages.
