At the beginning of June, AvtoVAZ presented a new LADA E-Niva concept at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). Now, thanks to Maxim Kadakov, the editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, technical details about the novelty have become known.

So, Mr. Kadakov said that there is no classic internal combustion engine and manual gear box under the car hood. The model is equipped with an electric powertrain with a rated capacity of 82 HP (peak capacity is almost twice as much, and amounts to 163 HP), coupled with the gear box of the previous version and all-wheel drive. The battery consists of two sections, one of which is in the trunk, the second is under the second row sofa. The battery capacity is 34 kW/h, the range is 175 km.

Data on the prospects for mass production and further market launch of the model are not yet available. According to Mr. Kadakov, it is not necessary to count on the early start of production and sales.
