The Modern Transport Technologies company and the Smarteco special purpose vehicle plant presented a tow truck with a sliding platform on the chassis of Valdai 8 cab-over-engine truck. Due to its high maneuverability, the new tow truck is suitable for use in cramped urban environments.

The vehicle is equipped with a lifting and sliding platform, a hydraulic winch and is designed for evacuation of vehicles weighing up to 2.7 tons. The loading length of the sliding platform is 5,630 mm, the width is 2,300 mm. The wheel deck is made of 3 mm thick corrugated steel. The pulling force on the hydraulic winch is 4 tons. The perforation in the platform deck along the entire length of the rolling tracks ensures reliable fixation of evacuated vehicles, as well as prevents the accumulation of dirt and precipitation. The dirt-proof control panel and two work area lights allow to work at any time of the day.

Valdai 8 is equipped with a modern G-series diesel engine (2.5 liters, 149 HP, 420 Nm of torque), characterized by low noise and vibration. Being paired with 6-speed gear box with a wide range of gear ratios, the engine provides the tow truck with low fuel consumption.
