The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant announced a new achievement within the framework of modernization program of the model range. Upgraded transfer cases have begun to be installed on cars.

It is known that the function of transfer cases is to distribute torque from the engine to drive mechanisms. After the design has been improved, more stable operation of the transmission is ensured by improved engagement of the gear wheel of direct transmission with the drive shaft of the rear axle, which became possible by increasing the tooth length of the 40th gear by 2 mm, according to the company's employees.

In addition, the self-disengagement of direct gear of the transfer case has now become impossible due to reduction of the rubber damper thickness to 2 mm.
