On July 25, 2024, KAMAZ transferred the NEFAZ-5299-31-52 bus to Simferopol for test operation on suburban routes.

The bus was placed at the disposal of the largest transport company in Crimea, Krymtrolleybus, which carries out passenger transportation in 18 districts of the peninsula, as well as in suburban and international traffic. The test operation of NEFAZ-5299-31-52 in real conditions will last one month.

The restyled NEFAZ-5299-31-52 suburban bus with improved performance is an effective solution for suburban routes and personnel transportation. A distinctive feature of the restyled model in comparison with the previous generation bus is a storage platform and a ramp for transporting passengers with limited mobility, which meet the requirements of an "Accessible environment". The body of a restyled suburban NEFAZ-5299-31-52 is made of fiberglass panels. Moreover, the bus has also received improved interior equipment and a power unit. Thus, the engine capacity has been significantly increased to 221.5 kW.
