As part of the Saint Petersburg International Gas Forum, which takes place on October 8-11 in the Northern Capital, KAMAZ presents K5 generation vehicles in gas-powered versions and gas engines.
KAMAZ–62501 mobile welding workshop, manufactured on the basis of KAMAZ-6250 shift gas-powered bus, is among the company's novelties. Passenger capacity is 3 passengers and the driver. The welding workshop is divided into four zones. The driver's zone is equipped with a driver's workplace and a berth. The vehicle is equipped with a gas inline 6-cylinder engine capacity of 279 HP (Euro-5), as well as 6-speed automatic gear box. For smooth running, a front suspension with long leaf springs, hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers and a stabilizer bar is used, the rear suspension is pneumatic – on four pneumatic elements. The body received a power frame (welded from steel pipes) and an external lining made of composites. The gross weight of the vehicle is 16 tons, length is 9,660 mm, height is 3,780 mm, width is 2,550 mm.
KAMAZ-54901 LNG tractor unit is also presented to the forum visitors (it meets the ADR requirements, which allows transporting dangerous goods). This is a gas-powered version of the well-known flagship of the K5 generation to consumers. In this modification, the vehicle is equipped with KAMAZ R6 (Euro-5) gas engine capacity of 460 HP, an automated gear box and two cryotanks holding 1,060 liters of liquefied natural gas. The use of LNG can significantly reduce the owner's fuel costs with a range of up to 1,600 km with one refuel. The start of production of this model is scheduled for the third quarter of the current year.
KAMAZ also presents 4 gas engines at its stand: KAMAZ- 950.10 (R6), KAMAZ-689, KAMAZ-667 and KAMAZ-445.
