Hyundai and KIA cars will return to mass production under the Solaris brand

AGR Automotive Group, the former Russian subsidiary of the Volkswagen concern, which bought out the assets of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus in Russia, will resume production of Hyundai and Kia models at the plant in Saint Petersburg.

The AGR Automobile Plant will launch mass production of 4 models of the Solaris brand — Solaris HS sedan (Hyundai Solaris), Solaris HC crossover (Hyundai Creta), Solaris KRS sedan (Kia Rio) and Solaris KRX cross hatchback (Kia Rio X-Line). AGR dealers will be engaged in the sale and maintenance of new products.

Technically, all models will be copies of the original versions. They will be equipped with 100-HP 1.4-liter, 123-HP 1.6-liter and 150-HP 2.0-liter petrol units, depending on the version, coupled with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gear box, as well as front- (for all sedans and hatchbacks) or all-wheel (for crossover) drive.
