Hongqi premium car production may be localized in Russia
The Chinese Hongqi premium brand plans to arrange the car assembly in Russia, Autonews reports with reference to Ivan Saveliev, the Executive Director of the Russian representative office of the brand.
According to Mr. Saveliev, under favorable conditions, the assembly of models in the Russian Federation can start in 2026. The company expects an early localization decision in order to remain competitive against the background of increased recycling tax.
