As part of the ongoing modernization process, Gazelle NEXT gasoline and gas-gasoline vehicles with all-metal bodies (van, combi, minibus) received a reinforced gear box.
Until now, two types of 5-speed gear boxes of own production have been used on vehicles of the Gazelle and Sobol families. The first of them is designed for engines with a torque of up to 250 Nm; until now, it has been installed on vehicles of the Business generation, as well as on Gazelles NEXT with gasoline and gas-gasoline engines. The second 5-speed gear box is reinforced, capable of transmitting higher torque – up to 330 Nm. Its body consists not of two, but not of three parts, with a spacer with an intermediate support of the secondary and intermediate shafts.
Currently, due to modernization of the machine-tool fleet, the automobile plant has expanded its production capacity for 330 Nm boxes and has begun their phased implementation for the entire line-up of gasoline and gas-gasoline vehicles, which have so far used a 250 Nm box. In particular, since March 1 of the current year, all all-metal vans, combi and Gazelle NEXT minibuses have already been equipped with reinforced 330 Nm boxes. The introduction of a reinforced gear box has significantly increased the life of the vehicle transmission and the level of unification within the family.
