Engines for new LADA versions are being developed at AvtoVAZ
AvtoVAZ is developing new-generation engines for Lada models, according to Evgeny Shmelev, the company's First Vice President for Strategy and Technical Development.
In addition to continuing work on the new LADA Azimut, the company plans to develop the production of new generation engines that can be integrated into both this novelty and other LADA models.
It has not yet been specified which engines are in question. Presumably, these are upgraded air breather engines of AvtoVAZ's own design displacement of 1.6 and 1.8 liters and capacity of 120 and 132 HP, respectively, coupled with 6-speed manual gear box or CVT. In the future, the list will be supplemented by a new 150-HP turbocharged engine coupled with a classic automatic gear box.

A complete set of optics for the future LADA Azimut model has begun to be produced at the site of the Lighting Solutions company in Tolyatti, the press service of AvtoVAZ reports.
According to forecasts, capacity of the new production facility will be up to 80 thousand sets of lighting equipment per year, which should completely cover the needs of the concern. The enterprise is planned to reach its design capacity by the end of 2026.

A new automatic shaft straightening press has been put into operation in the thermogalvanic shop of the KAMAZ Engine Plant. The equipment was purchased as part of the Axle Manufacturing project.
On the new press, 16 types of shafts go through the straightening process (to eliminate the warping of shafts resulting from their cooling during quenching). More than 400 parts must be processed per shift.
