Within the framework of strategic cooperation, KAMAZ PTC and NPP Itelma agreed on the application of a new electronic architecture on KAMAZ vehicles and buses using a sanctions-resistant element base.
Itelma is actively working to find alternative solutions to replace semiconductor components of manufacturers that have left the Russian market. One of the key milestones on this path was the agreement with KAMAZ on the use of a new line of electronic components by NPP Itelma on vehicles of K3 and K5 families, which fully comply with the KAMAZ requirements and can compete with the best foreign analogues on equal terms. Thus, the use of Russian printed circuit boards, passive electronic components and connectors is planned in the design of control units, and in subsequent releases microchips and microcontrollers will be added to the list of Russian element base (ECB). Today, the share of electronics is about 2% of the cost of KAMAZ vehicle, but taking into account the company's movement towards full digitalization and the introduction of elements of autonomous movement, this share will grow significantly in the future. The use of sanctions-resistant ECB should lead to a reduction in the cost of electronic architecture units.
