BAIC U5 Plus will receive a CNG version with the ability to refuel with natural gas, according to the company's press service.
The cost of the bi-fuel BAIC U5 Plus starts from 2,240,521 rubles, which is almost 200 thousand rubles more than the basic gasoline version, offered at the price from 2,045,000 rubles.
BAIC U5 Plus CNG can be refueled with both traditional gasoline and gas. According to the automaker, when using gasoline and gas engine fuel, the distance the car can drive increases 1.5-fold before the next refueling. Depending on the version, BAIC U5 Plus CNG sedan will be equipped with one 80-liter or two 39.1-liter cylinders with methane compressed to 200 atmospheres. In both cases, cylinders are placed in the luggage compartment.
The gas engine fuel equipment is installed directly at the factory and does not require additional certification. The electronic certificate of title of the bi-fuel BAIC U5 Plus CNG will be marked accordingly.
