The AvtoVAZ environmental management system has passed the next audit and confirmed compliance with the international standard ISO 14001.

During the audit conducted by the certification body LLC "INTERSERTIFICA", the following was noted: AvtoVAZ divisions work to improve the environmental friendliness of process procedures. Auditors called effective measures to reduce energy consumption one of the strengths of AvtoVAZ's environmental activities. All AvtoVAZ divisions replace mercury-containing lamps with LED lamps, and change the roof covering of workshops to a more efficient one in terms of reducing heat loss.

In addition, filters in three paint chambers have been repaired during the last year in the body painting shop, which contributes to improving air purification. Process fluid pumping units have been consistently implemented in various departments, which reduces the likelihood of leaks. Four automatic molding lines have been upgraded in the iron casting and forgings shop, which reduces the compressed air consumption. Also, during the audit, a high level of implementation of investment measures and involvement of managers and staff in environmental activities was noted.
