The new Volkswagen Tharu XR low-cost crossover, imported from China under the parallel import scheme, has begun to be sold in Russia. The model cost in dealerships starts from 1.45 million rubles.

At this price, a crossover equipped with fully front and rear LED optics, electrically driven mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheel disks, fabric seat upholstery, multi-steering wheel, 8-inch digital dashboard and media system displays, acoustics with 4 speakers, tire pressure sensors, front central armrest, air conditioner, rear-view camera, electric parking brake, rear-view mirror with anti-glare effect and 6 airbags (front, side and blinds) is offered to customers.

The basic version of the novelty is equipped with 1.5-liter 110-HP air breather unit paired with a classic 6-speed automatic gear box, while more premium versions received 1.5–liter 150-HP turbocharged engine combined with 7-speed robotized gear box.
