Almost 630 thousand Chinese cars drive on Russian roads

According to Russian Automotive Market Research, as of January 1, 2020, there were 627 thousand cars of Chinese brands in Russia, which is 1.4% of the vehicle population.
Five brands-CHERY, LIFAN, GEELY, GREAT WALL and BYD- account for 90% of the Chinese car population.
The majority of Chinese cars are in the Moscow region – 38.9 thousand units or 6.2%. The five largest regional vehicle populations of Chinese cars also include Moscow, the Krasnodar region, Bashkortostan Republic and the Sverdlovsk region.
The car and other vehicle type population is being updated as of July 1, 2020.

The Japanese Toyota automaker has registered a trademark of one of its Corolla models in Russia, according to the FIPS data.
Registration allows the company to sell cars, spare parts, as well as various automotive components and accessories under this name. The exclusive right of the brand to this trademark is valid until March 18, 2035.
Recall that trademark patenting does not mean the Toyota 's return to the Russian market.

The new iCaur V27 began to be sold in China, and it is expected to be brought to Russia during 2026.
iCaur V27 is a hybrid crossover equipped with power plant with a total capacity of 456 HP. The total range exceeds 800 km.
Recall that the Chinese iCaur brand presented V27 hybrid crossover at a closed presentation in Moscow at the end of 2025.
